Dr. Douglas M. Goumas
Dr. Douglas M. Goumas is a distinguished, board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine, and the diagnosis/treatment of injuries to the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle. In addition to practicing at New Hampshire Orthopedic Center, he founded Prime Consulting to provide independent medical evaluations, permanent impairment ratings, and medical chart reviews nationwide.
After graduating from Yale, Dr. Goumas studied at the UCONN School of Medicine and completed a surgical internship/orthopedic residency at the UCONN Health Center. A fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital honed his interests in sports medicine, and foot/ankle reconstructive surgery. As an instructor at Tufts School of Medicine, and a member of organizations like the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the Eastern Orthopedic Society, Dr. Goumas has stayed at the forefront of his field and maintains affiliations at hospitals across the region.
Appointed by New Hampshire’s Governor, Dr. Goumas provides expertise in workers’ compensation related injuries to the NH Workers’ Compensation Advisory Committee. His devotion to community health makes him a sought-after advisor, educator, and resource.
